fresh grape

Shine Muscat grapes were once hailed as the “Hermes of grapes” due to their unique rose aroma, crisp sweetness, and higher price. However, with the maturity of cultivation techniques and large-scale planting areas in China, yields have increased, and the price of Shine Muscat has fallen significantly. Orchards are now widely planted throughout China, from south to north. Thanks to China’s vast geographical span and climatic differences, Shine Muscat grapes have a staggered ripening period across the country, ensuring almost year-round supply.

Yunnan Honghe Prefecture (March-June):

Seizing the market window, extremely high prices. However, due to the early harvest, market supply is scarce, and some early-ripening grapes, in order to rush the market, have not yet fully developed their sugar content and flavor.

Hunan, Hubei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Northern Regions (August-October):

As temperatures gradually rising, the ripening zone of Shine Muscat grapes begins to shift northward. Maturing Time: In Hunan and Hubei, ripening is concentrated from July to September; in northern producing areas such as Shandong and Henan, it’s from late August to October. This is the peak season for Shine Muscat grapes nationwide, resulting in huge yields, but also a tendency for inconsistent quality and a diluted flavor.

Flagship high-quality products Area: Meishan, Sichuan (July-October): (Location of Power Link Fruit Co., Ltd.)

Maturing Time: Typically available from early July, reaching peak flavor and sugar content in August and September.

Original Advantages: Currently (mid-May), Meishan’s Shine Muscat grapes are in their fruiting stage, about two months away from optimal ripeness and harvest. Comparing Yunnan’s “early harvest rush,” Meishan follows natural rhythms, allowing the fruit to absorb ample sunlight and heat, ensuring each grape reaches its perfect state of “long-lasting aftertaste and sweet sweetness.”

Unique Climate: Meishan boasts unique advantages in sunlight and heat resources, fertile soil, and excellent irrigation conditions. Utilizing advanced domestic greenhouse, mulch film, and green pest control technologies, the Shine Muscat grapes produced here are large, plump, thin-skinned, and crisp, with a signature rich rose aroma.

Power Link Fruit Co Ltd orchards insist on not using ripening agents and not harvesting prematurely. We understand that only by harvesting when the sugar content is fully reached (usually above 18%) in August and September can we guarantee customers truly top-quality taste.

August is the peak season for Shine Muscat grapes in China. During this period, supply peaks as shipments from all over China flood the market. Consequently, the price of Shine Muscat grapes tends to hit its annual low, making this the best time for consumers to achieve “Shine Muscat freedom.”

Northern Production Areas (Late September – November)

As the southern boom gradually subsides, the northern Shine Muscat grapes take over the sweet baton. Starting from the end of September, northern production areas such as Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Anhui, and Liaoning successively enter the harvest season. At this time, the longer growing period allows the Shine Muscat grapes to develop a richer and more mellow flavor. Additionally, since this period falls outside the peak season in August, prices usually rebound.

From the early spring ripening in Yunnan, through the summer frenzy in Sichuan, Chongqing, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, and finally to the late autumn harvest in the north, the ripening time of Shine Muscat grapes in different regions of China resembles a sweet relay race spanning thousands of kilometers. This not only showcases the wisdom of Chinese agriculture in adapting to local conditions but also allows consumers to enjoy the aroma of Shine Muscat grapes throughout the year round
