The Ponkan orange (citrus) industry has become an important engine driving the economic development of Qingshen County.

The county has a total planting area of ​​62,700 mu (approximately 4,887 hectares). As of 2024, the total annual output value of the Qingshen Ponkan orange (citrus) industry reached US$316 million.
